This book is about a girl named Hazel and her best-friend Daisy who go to school in England
Hazel gets a call from her family at home in Hong-Kong to say that her grandfather has died.
Hazel and Daisy set off to Hong-Kong for the funeral.
However, while they are there her baby brother is kidnapped and the maid who was with him was murderd.
It was up-to Hazel and Daisy to find out who it was.
I'm not saying who it was so you will have to read the book.
This book definitely has earned a 100% from me.

There are a lot of characters in this book. It's about a boy called Michael. It starts with Michael moving house. He then finds something amazing in the garage; a new friend. It's fun to read, especially the bits where you don't know what's going to happen. I liked this book and thought it was good. I would recommend it to children aged 8-12 years old

Adventures in Philosophy: Stories and Quests for Thinking Heroes

I thought this was a brilliant book that gives a great introduction to philosophy. It's really well written and I felt like I was reading short stories but still learned a lot about philosophy and the lives of philosophers. Each idea is presented with a beautiful illustration, a mythical story, some questions to make you think, and then the thoughts of lots of famous philosophers on the subject. This variety makes it really interesting and you'll find yourself considering lots of questions, big and small. I found this book really engaging to read and it gave me plenty of food for thought

Cogheart is set in 1896 Victorian London and it's about Lily Grantham who is 13 years old. Lily's life is turned upside-down after finding out her father has been in an airship accident. There's a lot of action and adventure in this book, and you'll never know what's going to happen next but you'll be in suspense to find out. It has great mystery and lots of imagination - and I also loved the idea of a mechanical fox!

A Girl Called Blue

This book, by Irish author Marita Conlon-McKenna, is about a 12-year-old girl who is named Blue because she was found in a blue blanket and has big blue eyes. The story is really sad at times but I couldn't put the book down and I was really sorry when I finished it. I love Marita's other books and I would recommend this to anyone who likes her famine books like "Under the Hawthorn Tree" or "Wildflower Girl". I would recommend "A Girl Called Blue" even if you haven't read those ones yet. 5 stars!
